🌱🔬 Hands-on science in action!
Ms. Weikle’s Honors Environmental Science class recently conducted an engaging acid rain lab to explore how environmental factors impact plant growth. Students tested varying concentrations of vinegar to simulate acid rain and observed its effect on the germination rates of radish seeds.
Through this experiment, students were able to see firsthand how increasing acidity can influence seed development and overall plant health. It was a great opportunity to connect classroom learning to real-world environmental issues while building critical thinking and data analysis skills.
Science is growing—one seed at a time! 🌍🌿

At Luray High School we like to have a little fun whenever we can. Today, we are celebrating Principal's Day with "Tiny Taras" and "Fathead Taras." Thank you, Mrs. Meadows for all you do for Luray High School.
When siblings end up at the same school together, you take the pictures. :)
Yesterday, 4th grade students from Springfield Elementary School visited Luray High School to finally meet their "pen pals" they have been writing to all year. The Pen Pal Club,. sponsored by Mrs. Brandi Alger and Mrs. Emily Sine, is designed to pair 4th graders with an LHS student to practice writing skills, sharing things about themselves and school life, as well as exchange small gifts during the holidays. At the end of the year the students get to meet their pen pals and engage in some fun activities.
Please note and review the attendance requirements to attend LHS Prom.

Luray High School SCA held their first ever Paint and Sip event during lunches today. What a great turn-out. There were lots of snacks, music, and of course painting a beautiful spring picture. This event was held to help fund a local scholarship for seniors.
