🫧🔬 Ms. Weikle’s Honors Biology Bubble Lab! 🧬

Learning about the cell membrane is a lot more fun when you can play with bubbles! 🫧

Our Honors Biology students completed the Bubble Lab to model the amazing properties of the phospholipid bilayer. Through hands-on activities, students explored how the cell membrane:

🫧 Maintains flexibility
🩹 Can repair itself
⭕ Can surround and form compartments, modeling organelles with a “bubble inside a bubble”
🔬 Demonstrates facilitated diffusion by creating a concentration pathway with a string and opening (representing the protein to allow larger molecules through the cell membrane)

The students had a blast using bubbles to visualize these microscopic cellular processes! What better way to understand the cell membrane than by making the science visible, hands-on, and fun? 🧬🫧

Students in Mrs. Bauserman's nutrition and wellness class learned how to properly pick, carve, and gut a pumpkin. They then roasted pumpkin seeds and used a variety of seasonings for different tastes.

This morning Luray High School seniors held their "Senior Sunrise" event. And, what a perfect morning it was for a beautiful sunrise and breakfast. Thank you to all of the parents who helped to make sure this was a successful event.

Ms. Weikle’s Honors Biology students reviewed cell organelles with a fun speed-dating activity! Each “organelle” had a chance to share its structure, function, and why it’s an important part of the cell. 🔬🧫

Who knew cell biology could be such a great match? 💕🧬

Yesterday, at Luray High School, students in Miss Cawthorn's Biology class made concept map posters to show their understanding of the properties of water.

The LHS Golf Team competed at the Bull Run District Tournament yesterday. E. Wilson shot a 104 F. Griffith shot a 116 Followed by teammates B Carter and A Ragland. Great job Bulldogs!

Page County Public Schools recognized students at the last school board meeting for being a part of the Page Fair, Athletics, FFA, and FCCLA. We are proud of all that our students have accomplished.
