2nd Grader's in Mrs. Morrison's class had a surprise guest last week. Author Dustin Brady of the "Trapped Inside A Videogame" kids series had a virtual visit with scholars to discuss his book series and the importance of reading.
Springfield Scholars participate in the 4th Annual "Crunch Heard 'Round the Commonwealth" to support Virginia Farm to School programs. Thank you local farmers!
We're celebrating Farm to School week. This week's menu includes sweet potatoes grown at Survivor Farm in Luray and apples grown at Thornton River Orchard in Sperryville. Here is a sample meal from one of our schools today (corn dog nuggets, green beans, sweet potatoes, apple, and milk).

Good evening. Per the Page County Public Schools calendar, progress reports are scheduled to go home this week (October 5-9, 2020). At the elementary level, students will receive a printed copy. At the secondary level, we are encouraging students and parents to check your child's Schoology account for the latest progress (we will not be printing reports). Today is a day to stop and thank a very valuable group of people within our schools. The unsung heroes, our custodial and maintenance staff. Your hard work and dedication in getting our buildings prepared for the school year, and your day-to-day duties of cleaning and sanitizing to help keep our students and staff safe, have not gone unnoticed. PCPS Nutritional Services would like some feedback regarding our meal delivery program that operated from March 17th - September 9th. Part of our program was a pilot (grant) to learn more about meal delivery. Can you spare 5 minutes (or less) of your time to share your experience? Picture Day Information:
Remote Leaners having their picture taken today will enter through the main doors of the school. Pictures can be taken from 3:30-6:00pm. We will adhere to CDC guidelines, so expect to maintain social distancing and wear a mask. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Remote Learners will also be able to take their school picture on Friday, Oct. 2 from 3:30-6:00pm at Springfield.

If you have not yet filled out the lunch application for FREE breakfast/lunch for the 2020-2021 school year, please do so as soon as possible. This offer is good for ALL PCPS students--one application per household is necessary. https://www.lunchapplication.com/
Also, please remember that if you wish to have meals on Wednesdays you must fill out a form EACH week, by 3 p.m. Tuesday. https://forms.gle/CCdiQwx25hpjcHEQ8 These meals will be delivered to bus stops beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Meals on M-T-Th-F may be picked up between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. at any of these five schools Springfield, LMS, Stanley, PCMS, or Shenandoah.
