Tomorrow, Thursday, October 27, 2022, is the annual Read For the Record. Jumpstart's event, Read for the Record, is a global moment meant to raise awareness around the importance of early literacy and access to high-quality books. Each year Read For the Record brings millions of people together as they read the same book on the same day. This year, the book chosen for the event is Nigel and the Moon, by Antwan Eady, and is published by Harper Collins. Please be on the lookout for pictures from this event as it is celebrated around PCPS. Want to read the book with your child? Read the digital version of Nigel and the Moon https://www.literacypbc.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/NigelandtheMoon_English_Combined.pdf Nigel y la Luna en español https://www.literacypbc.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/NigelandtheMoon_Spanish_Combined.pdf

Can you believe Halloween is almost here? To have some fun, we will allow our scholars to wear their school-appropriate costumes to school on Monday, October 31st. Please remember, no masks, face paintings, or weapon-typed costume props. Also, please make sure your child wears regular shoes and will be able to easily maneuver their costumes by themselves so that they can use the bathroom or participate in classroom activities. We can't wait to see you all dressed up!
