Important Message From PCPS:
All afternoon and evening activities scheduled for today, Wednesday, May 14, 2025, have been cancelled.
Thank you.

Good morning,
Unfortunately road conditions in various locations across the division are not passable by our buses and division vehicles and some roads are closed. All PCPS schools and offices will be closed today, Wednesday, May 14, 2025. 12-month staff do not report.
This decision was not made lightly and was made out of an abundance of caution for the safety of all students, staff, and families. Any SOL testing that was to take place today will be rescheduled. Schools will be communicating information to staff and families as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support and patience. Please stay safe today! Thank you!

All PCPS schools and offices will open on a two-hour delay today, Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Please arrive at your bus stop two hours later than usual. Breakfast and lunch will be served.
This delay will allow staff to continue to evaluate conditions across the division. We will communicate updates or changes if needed. Again, we thank you for your support as we navigate varied road conditions across the division to ensure everyone’s safety.

🌼 Spring Highlights from Our Welding Program! 🌼
This spring has been buzzing with activity! We're excited to announce that 9 Welding 2 students have achieved their Welding Certification in SMAW! 🎉
We've also organized a successful BBQ Smoker Raffle, with ticket sales open until May 29th. Our students got to test out the smoker by creating delicious “Hog Claws” Honey Buns wrapped in Bacon! 😋
In addition, our talented team has taken on a Canoe Trailer Project, showcasing their skills and creativity.
We're proud to support our community by fabricating a smoker for He Is Able Food Ministry, helping them continue their important work in feeding those in need. ❤️ Community supporting Community!

Today, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing school nurses! Your dedication, compassion, and expertise play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students every day. Your tireless efforts do not go unnoticed, and we appreciate everything you do!
Let’s celebrate and honor our school nurses today!

The nurse aide class has just finished their clinical rotation and is preparing to take their state exam. The Virginia state exam consists of a written and a skills portion and they must pass both to become certified. They enjoyed their clinical experience, and many are planning to start working in the healthcare field this summer! They have not only been learning and performing, but they have also taught some of their skills to eager 5th graders as well! They are looking forward to beginning their journeys in the healthcare world!

Practical Nursing I students learned about blood components and performed blood typing on themselves in class. Students learned the importance of blood values staying in the normal range and the s/s of abnormal lab values. This was beneficial as they used this knowledge in the clinical setting at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab Center.
