PCPS held its second Community Forum on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Page County High School. Approximately 40 attendees represented the school division, law enforcement, and various agencies who serve the entire Page County community. From the first meeting in March, the discussion continued around ways to work together to engage the community and utilize our resources in the most effective and efficient ways possible. PCPS is honored to host these forums and grateful to all of those in attendance. The next forum is scheduled for June 13, 2023 at 4p.m. ( at Luray High School). All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Together, we can help our community thrive!




45 Luray High School students to Powhatan High School to see the Arts and Dance Flamenco Baile. Several LHS students participated with the audience interactive sessions held with the dance performers. The students learned about dance and music from Spain, Cuba, Colombia, y la Republica Dominica.

Don't forget! Tonight is the annual Page County Public Schools Art Show. The show is being held at Luray High School from 6-8 p.m. Come out and see all of the artistic talent within our division. We hope to see you there.

This is a reminder that parent/teacher conferences are being held today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Teachers will have a 1 hour break during this time. If you don't have an appointment and plan to attend, you may want to check with the school to see when that break is scheduled. For Kindergarten registration there will be someone at the tables for the entire time.

Today, LHS sophomores and juniors got their chance to find the "Golden Ticket" during the PACA/YPACA sponsored egg hunt. Today's winner was sophomore, Laney Roy! Congratulations.

On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, Page County Public Schools will hold its annual ART SHOW featuring works from each of our schools. Please mark your calendars to join us for this event!

A little lunch, a little frisbee, a little football, and a lot of sunshine. Spring is in the air at LHS.

Today, during Advisory, LHS Freshman and Seniors participated in an Egg Hunt sponsored by PACA/YPACA. Eggs were filled with candy and one special egg held the "Golden Ticket." Danny Vaughn was the lucky winner! What a beautiful day It was to get outside. On Thursday, Sophomores and Juniors will have the same opportunity. Stay tuned for pics from their hunt.

Today, April 4, 2023, is School Librarian Day. Please be sure to thank your librarians for all they do for your school.
School Library Month is the American Association of School Librarians' celebration of school librarians/libraries.
Research shows that school libraries/librarians have the ability to have a positive effect on the success of students. Libraries are intended to be comfortable learning spaces where students are given the ability to have free conversations, receive one-on-one attention if needed, and explore topics in a calming atmosphere.

This is a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 7, 2023 in observance of Good Friday. On Monday, April 10, 2023, there is NO SCHOOL for STUDENTS, as this is Parent/Teacher Conference Day. Conferences will take place from 10am -6 pm. Please note that each school will take an hour-long lunch break sometime within this time period. Times may NOT be the same for all schools. If you are planning to attend conferences, and you do not already have an appointment, you may want to contact that school to find out when their break is scheduled. For those attending for Kindergarten registration, someone will ALWAYS be available at each elementary school from 10am-6 pm.

On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, senior, Jaidyn McClung, had her signing ceremony at Luray High School committing to play volleyball for Bridgewater College next year. Athletic Director, Don Ehlers , Volleyball Coach, Susan Henry-Wilson, and Track and Field Coach, Skip Hamilton, all spoke of Jaidyn's dedication, determination, and fierce competitiveness. Joining Jaidyn at her ceremony were her parents, Charity and Timmy, her sister, Chelsey, and her brother, Timmy. Friends, teachers, administrators, and other relatives were also there to support her. Good luck, Jaidyn. The Bridgewater Eagles are lucky to have you.





Today, the Luray High School SCA hosted a breakfast social for students and staff. Everyone was treated to a pancake and sausage breakfast, and students were then able to play corn hole, board games, hang with friends, and even watch a little VT Women's Basketball (reruns). Everyone enjoyed the time to relax, eat good food, and build community.










STEM club at LHS participated in The Great Marshmallow Challange today. They built towers using spaghetti, tape, and string, to support a marshmallow. The activity promotes teamwork, problem solving skills, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills.
