students with index cards towers

6th Grade students, at Page County Middle School, were challenged to use the STEM process and a stack of index cards to create the tallest free-standing tower. They began with 25 index cards and then added more, for a total of 40 index cards. They worked very competitively in
teams and all were successful with the task. By the end their towers ranged from 3 feet to almost 4 feet in height!
