5th Grade students from Springfield, Luray, Stanley and Shenandoah Elementary schools attended the district's first ever "5th grade extravaganza" at Page County Technical Center (PCTC). 5th graders got to rotate through 10 different CTE class programs to help with program and career awareness. These programs were taught by high school seniors who are current students in the different programs. The 5th graders were also able to choose a PCTC lab of their choice to spend time in, while working with PCTC students and their instructors on activities. 5th graders finished the event by working on a financial simulation that allowed them to experience paying their bills with fictional job salaries.
