students making apple butter

PCMS FFA members have participated in a number of activities to study and preserve some of the traditional farm practices of Page County. In September, FFA had an apple butter boil at the school to support the Page County Heritage Association. In October, Showalter’s Orchard gave a tour of their orchard and facilities and allowed members to pick apples that we returned to the school and pressed into cider. Our supporters, so far this year, are Showalter’s Orchard of Mt. Jackson, Larry Young, Page County Heritage Association and Merck. A big thank you to all those who supported the PCMS FFA in our learning experiences and also a special thanks to the adult volunteers.
