Her dedication to the music program is amazing, often working late nights and weekends to get things done and organized. Tell Me Something Good-- Ms. Coleen Manzano --2nd grade Teacher--Shenandoah Elementary School "Mrs. Manzano goes above and beyond for all her students. She had one of my older kids for 1st grade and he was having a lot of difficulty and she communicated with me and together we worked to figure out how to best help him. It took all school year and multiple different ideas, but she never gave up on him. Then she had another of my kids for 1st grade and now again in 2nd grade and while he can be difficult she has the patience of a Saint and again, she communicates with me and we work together to figure out the best way to help him. I know she's like that with all her students. They are all treated as if they were her own. I can never thank her enough for how she's been with my kids in the 3 years they've had her. I only wish she'd keep moving up in grades so my youngest could keep having her."--Jackie Staples Thank you, Ms. Manzano, for never giving up on our students, and for always looking for a new/better way to reach them. She has made sure my son, through all his knee issues, is well taken care of and he takes care of himself. She has been a blessing to the school as a whole. Her life experiences create this mash up of knowledge that makes her easily relatable and so fascinating! Mrs. Keim knows just how to connect with my child to make him want to be better, to work harder. He still says how much he misses her and would go back to 2nd grade in a hot second! Next up today, we have Ms. Emily Deamond --Music PCHS Ms. Deamond also has received multiple shout-outs for being so awesome. 1) "I am speaking on behalf of all Ms. Deamond's students. Ms. Deamond is amazing. She makes an effort to make all her students feel welcome and accepted. She works extremely hard as well. She is the director of the Marching Panthers and puts on a musical every year, if possible. Her efforts do not go unnoticed, as she has made a home away from home for her students out of the band room. She absolutely deserves a shout out."-- students of Ms. Deamond 2)"Emily goes above and beyond to provide her students with kindness and support. Tell Me Something Good - Ms. Elizabeth Kite--Librarian--Stanley Elementary School 1) "My daughter absolutely adores Ms. Kite. She is always telling me about how Ms. Kite reserved her next favorite book so she can check it out and always tells me the stories Ms. Kite shares during library time. Ms. Kite even sent my daughter a nice postcard with a sweet message. Thank you Ms. Kite for always being so kind and for sharing so many different inspiring stories with the students." --Carissa Miller 2) "Mrs. Kite is an absolute gem found at Stanley Elementary School. Both of my kids absolutely adore library and come home excited to show me the books that they have chosen for the week. Mrs. Kite knows all of their likes and hobbies and several times has had books set to the side that she knows my kids will enjoy (which I'm sure she does for all the students). She is truly an inspiration to us all. I have noticed a change in the diversity in the available books that my children bring home; from books featuring people of color to those with families made up of all combinations including being raised by grandparents or adoption. She even has an endless supply of non-fiction for my kid that "only likes facts".
