Due to the lost instructional time we have experienced so far this school year due to weather related delays and closings, the PCPS School Board voted to amend 2023-2024 school calendar, removing the remaining 2-hour delay days. This means that February 28, March 13 and May 8,will now be full school days where students and staff begin at the regular school start time. Attention parents! Head's up! There is no driver for bus 35 tomorrow afternoon. In the afternoon, Bus 68 will be doing a double run. If you would like to avoid having your child(ren) wait 45 minutes extra after normal time, please send in a note that they will be a car rider. In honor of Black History Month, we will be highlighting some innovations of African Americans that changed the way we produce and consume foods. On February 27, 2024, we will offer biscuits at breakfast and will offer French Fries at lunch. Interested in finding out why those foods, see the graphic below.
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Smiling is one such random act of kindness. Smiling has been proven to increase endorphins – which help you and others feel much better. By giving someone a smile, it will encourage them to do the same. Smiling can be a chain reaction and often is contagious. Take a moment today to make someone smile.
Weather Update - Given the chance for inclement weather across the area impacting travel in the morning and out of an abundance of caution, all PCPS schools and offices will open on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Students should plan to arrive at their bus stop two hours later than normal.
We ask parents or guardians of students who drive to school to talk with them about being particularly careful in the morning. We want everyone to arrive safely and ready to learn.
Breakfast and lunch will be served at school.

What is kindness?
Kindness matters and it matters every day. Today is day one of our Kindness Week initiative. Start by defining what you think kindness is…it might be a kind word to someone, it might be lending a hand to someone in need, saying thank you to the person who held the door for you, or just smiling at someone. Kindness can be many different things and it is easy to be kind. Ask someone today how they demonstrate kindness. Be Kind. No exceptions!

Throughout next week, February 12 - 16, 2024, along with the Virginia Department of Education and other school divisions across the state, Page County Public Schools will celebrate Kindness Week. Kindness Week is to recognize that simple day-to-day acts of kindness enable our schools, communities, and state to be a kinder place to live, work, learn, and play. Practicing and celebrating kindness is to look for the good, bridge connections across differences, restore hope, and empower people to make our communities strong and resilient.
Correction: The date originally posted for the regularly scheduled school board meeting was incorrect. The meeting is TONIGHT, February 8, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Office Board Room.

There will be NO Bus 68 this afternoon. Bus 35 will be running a double instead to cover it. Please expect 30 to 40 minute delays on Bus 68 this afternoon.

There is no bus driver for Bus 68 this afternoon, therefore if your child(ren) ride Bus 68 and you would like to avoid them having an extra 40-45 minute wait, please call the school and let us know that the child(ren) will be car riders.
