Good afternoon Families of Springfield Elementary, Due to COVID situations involving a significant number of students and staff being quarantined or sick, we are making the very difficult decision to postpone the holiday concert that was scheduled for this Thursday until some time in January. Postponing will allow all students the opportunity to participate in the program. Additionally, we are concerned that bringing large numbers of students, staff, and families together for the holiday concert this week may cause additional people to be quarantined or sick over the winter break. We are working to evaluate options in January to provide students with the opportunity to perform live for their families and will share details in the new year. We know there will be some disappointment but we are airing on the side of caution to ensure the health and safety of all students, staff, and their families at this time. On December 9, the Book Fair will be open from 3:30-6:00PM and students will be able to take their picture with Santa. Hello, all participating Duke Dog Reading Program schools! As most of you all have seen, the official Virtual Participant Completion Bookmark Form is LIVE! You can access it here. Link: https://app.jmusports.com/DukeDogParticipant Thank each of you for sharing this with your participating students and assisting them in their reading journeys! A few reminders as the program has officially begun: If you are submitting the bookmark for a student, PLEASE ensure that you provide their PARENT/GUARDIAN'S email and phone number and NOT your own. This will allow the student to receive their tickets in the proper fashion through our ticketing system here with JMU Athletics. If you chose to print out the Virtual Bookmark, please make sure that you submit the information to the Virtual Bookmark Form so that the child is counted and will receive their coupons and tickets! Lastly, the final day to submit the Virtual Participant Completion Bookmarks is Friday, January 7th, 2022 at 5 p.m.!

The count down is on! Book fair at Springfield will begin on Monday, December 6, 2021, and go through Friday, December 10, 2021. On Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. we will be offering FREE pics with Santa when you visit the book fair (Pictures with Santa will be emailed, and if you'd like to join your child in the picture, you are more than welcome).
