Luray Middle School

Given the very low temperatures this evening and the icy conditions on many roads across the division, all PCPS schools will be closed on Thursday, January 9, 2025. All 12-month staff report at 10:00am. All afternoon and evening events and activities are cancelled, including the School Board meeting that was scheduled for Thursday evening. We understand that some people may feel frustrated that students have not yet returned to school. We absolutely want them back and cannot wait to see them! However, when road conditions do not allow for the safe transport of students, we, as a division, must prioritize safety and err on the side of caution. While roads near your home may appear clear, school cancellations indicate that roads in other parts of Page County are unsafe for buses and student travel. Decisions affecting the entire school system are made based on the condition of all roads across the county, not just a few areas. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of PCPS. We look forward to seeing students back in school as soon as it is safe to do so. We hope that everyone is staying safe and warm!
