At Luray Middle School, we encourage our students to show compassion and kindness each day. We are so proud of the members of our cross country team who did just that at the meet against Peter Muhlenberg Middle School last week when a pair of LMS XC runners helped an opponent across the finish line after he began to have severe leg cramps. Way to go Bulldogs! Sportsmanship in action!

We are incredibly proud of the growth happening across Page County Public Schools! All Page County Public Schools met state standards for full accreditation. Additionally, prior to the application of federal identification considerations, every PCPS school earned a framework score in the Meets Expectations or Distinguished performance categories. Our 2026–2027 School Performance and Support Framework results reflect the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our students, staff, school leaders, families, and community. Every school in PCPS demonstrated growth, and that's worth celebrating.

These results are more than numbers. They represent stronger instruction, student progress, teamwork, perseverance, and a continued commitment to getting better every day.

Thank you to our incredible staff and school communities for their support and commitment to our students. Please see the linked press release for the full story.

We've got some exciting news. Read all about it

Yesterday, Dr. Huber was able to start his week off working with Springfield Elementary School 2nd graders, and to see their teacher, Miss Dudley, in action. Her classroom was a hub of learning, where students not only worked hard on reading and spelling, but also on soft skills like words of affirmation and encouragement for their classmates. Dr. Huber stated, "It was a great way to start off the week. Amazing things are happening in Page County." Our superintendent is thoroughly enjoying being able to visit classrooms to witness all of the learning that is taking place.

Mrs. Burns WIN class recently rolled up their sleeves and worked together on a school beautification project. Students added corn stalks, colorful mums and festive gourds to help bring a little autumn spirit to our school's planters. We are especially grateful to Mr Riley, who provided the decorations for our project! This hands-on project is a great example of what can get accomplished with the hands of many! Students worked together to arrange decorations and took pride in making their school a more welcoming place. Thanks 6th grade WIN!

Community Service activity
Finished project!

7th grade Family and Consumer Sciences students kicked off the year with an exciting challenge! Students worked together to solve clues, discover codes and unlock the box to earn a prize. Along the way, students learned about FCS, explored career clusters within FCS education and discovered the many skills they will develop in this class. We are happy to report all students successfully broke out and earned their prize! Thanks to the IT team for helping Mrs. Burns set up a fun activity that not only helped students learn but also practice skills like teamwork, communication and problem solving!

8th grade Family and Consumer Sciences students participated in an escape room set up by the Page County  IT department. The challenges presented to them were thoughtfully designed to be centered around FCCLA, ensuring that all questions and answers were directly related to the co-curricular organization. Through collaboration, critical thinking and communication, these students not only unlocked the boxes to receive a prize, but also unlocked a deeper understanding of FCCLA's mission and purposes in a fun and engaging way.
