When Zac Schupner was a junior at PCHS, and in first year Auto Tech at PCTC, he attended the national auto show in Washington DC with Mr. Strassner on a field trip. This is a trip that Automotive students have taken almost every year since. Students are always excited to see the new model year cars on the first floor. The show includes everything from the latest Honda Civic to the newest Ford F150. Students benefit from this trip. Nowhere else can they be exposed to all the new cars at once, and in one place.
Along with the new cars on the first floor, they also enjoy the custom and antique cars on the second floor. But this year, something special happened. Zac had a car on display at the national auto show. This car has been featured in many magazines and has won many shows. This Volkswagen Beetle is a car that Zac has built with his own two hands.
This year‘s trip brought an auto technician and current auto technology students full circle. The auto technology one students were viewing a car that a former auto technology student had built. At PCTC, we are proud of all of our students, but especially proud of the ones who have gone on to find success in their careers, like Zac! Technician successes like this one inspire the next generation of Auto Technicians.
