Sheila McKay, PCHS Business Teacher

In honor of CTE month (February), PCPS would like to highlight the CTE teachers throughout our division! In each highlight, you will learn about the courses they teach, their years of experience in and out of the classroom, what drew them to teaching and the cool projects their CTE classes are completing! To them, we say "thank you" for all that you do each day to bring Career and Technical Education alive for our students!

Years of Experience - 29.5

What drew you to teaching?

My dad inspired in the business field and Ms. Stephany Roach, my PCHS Accounting teacher, inspired me to be a business teacher.

What's your favorite thing about teaching?

Seeing students who work hard succeed. Helping students see their potential.
Working with supportive co-workers and administration

What project(s) are you most proud of so far this year?

The business departments' success as a whole on the W!SE, ParaPro, and MOS certification tests.

Cutest Pet Contest - Business Department/FBLA sponsored this contest. The members and PCHS staff submitted pictures of their pets and then the entire school voted with their change for the "cutest" put. All proceeds went to help Bentley Farm Great Dane Rescue.

FBLA Page One Food Drive - Seminar/Study Hall classes collected food during FBLA week.
Food was then delivered on Friday of FBLA week and members helped in the pantry for about 1/2 hour.

American Enterprise Field Trip to RT 11 chips, Blue Ridge Bank, and SD Solutions. So much learned at all three places.
