LURAY, Va. ― On Friday, January 31, 2020, for the first time in 15 years, Page County Technical Center hosted the Skills USA District X Electrical Technology Competition.
The competition, hosted by PCTC and sponsored by IBEW Local Union 26, featured 12 competitors from Fauquier County, Triplett Tech, and PCTC. Competing for Page County Technical Center were Max McAlister (LHS), Cade Spittler (LHS), Marcus Gray (PCHS), Lukas Lang (LHS), and Dakota Turner (PCHS).
The competition consisted of a practical portion, in which each competitor had three hours to complete a project that came with plans to follow, and ended with a written test.
IBEW Local Union 26 not only sponsored the event, but the organization also provided all materials necessary for the competition. At the conclusion, the materials used for the contest were donated to PCTC for future use.
Congratulations to Cade Spittler, a senior at Luray High School, who placed 4th in the competition.
